Nithi Water and Sanitation Company limited is one of the Water service providers Contracted by Tana Water Works Development Agency and the County Government of TharakaNithi to provide water and sanitation services in TharakaNithi County under the Water Act 2002. To fulfil the company’s vision and mission, we are seeking a visionary customer centric and result- oriented technologically survey and experienced individual to fill the position of a DRIVER, CUSTOMER CARE RELATIONS OFFICER, METER READER, NEW CUSTOMER CONNECTION OFFICER AND OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN.

  1. DRIVER(1POST)Job Group “8”

TERMS OF SERVICE

Two (2) years Contract renewable on satisfactory duty performance. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform driving duties for the assigned section or unit per the responsibilities in accordance with company’s policies.
  2. Inspect assigned vehicle(s) on a daily basis to ensure that they are in good working condition.
  3. Report immediately to the supervisor any vehicle faults noted and coordinate rectification of the same as guided by the supervisor and vehicle repairs and maintenance policy and procedures.
  4. Ensure that the interior and exterior of the vehicles are always clean from dust, dirt, and that the vehicle tyres and body are always in good condition.
  5. Maintain a functional standard tool kit, spare tyre, first aid box and fire extinguisher in the appropriate positions.
  6. Ensure that vehicle insurance policies are always valid and report to the supervisor at least one month in advance for their renewal.
  7. Liaise with the supervisor and submit completed requisition forms, for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  8. Monitor vehicle mileage for routine and regular service and maintenance and report in good time to ensure that repairs and servicing of vehicles is adequately carried out.
  9. Collect goods and people in good time and ensure safe delivery to designated places.
  10. Run other office errands as directed by the supervisor.
  11. Maintain proper work ticket for vehicle usage.
  12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the management from time to time.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. KCSE grade D+
  2. Valid Driving License class B, C, E/ Government Trade Test 1 (Mechanics)
  • Certificate of good conduct, AA Proficiency added advantage.
  1. Must be a holder of a valid driving license.
  2. Must possess a PSV certificate.
  3. Should possess have a certificate in ElectroMechanical field.
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • AA Certificate of competency will be an added advantage.
  1. Three (3) years working experience in the same position – accident free

 

  1. CUSTOMER CARE RELATIONS OFFICER (1) POST) Job Group “8”

 

TERMS OF SERVICE

Two (2) years Contract renewable on satisfactory duty performance

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESEPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure timely collection of all revenue generated and billed as per policies and procedure
  • Maintain accurate record on customers
  • Process new accounts and old ones where the customers need to close their accounts
  • Ensure timely response to customers enquiries and complaints
  • Ensure effective communication between customer corporate in order to establish conducive working environment
  • Ensure provision of quality services to customers as per established standards
  • Maintain accurate records customer complaints in order to identify areas of problems and take appropriate measures
  • Train personnel on good customer relations
  • Educate public on the services being provided by the company
  • Prepare regular reports and distributing to users
  • Making recommendation to the Head of Department on issues related to the improvement of customer service, service delivery and improved customer satisfaction
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • KSCE C
  • Diploma in Public Relation/Communication/Customer Care
  • Diploma in Water Management is an added advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to build personal relationships, which are beneficial to the company
  • Must have developed good intercultural orientation and strong public relations skills
  • Should possess strong communication, negotiation and administration skills
  • Three (3) years relevant working experience

 

  1. METER READER (1) POST) Job Group “8”

 

TERMS OF SERVICE

Two (2) years Contract renewable on satisfactory duty performance

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out meter reading as per approved procedures and policy
  • Ensure that meter reading data is accurate and correspond to installed monitoring equipment
  • Carry out inspection of illegal connections and reporting the findings to appropriate management for action
  • Report leaks in the water supply systems to management for appropriate action
  • Enter accurately customer details in the meter reading cards or records
  • Liaise with other sections in provision of quality service to customers
  • Ensure safe custody of equipment and materials assigned
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • KSCE C-
  • Meter Reading intermediate Course/Driving licence class F
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be Physically fit and demonstrate agility

 

  1. NEW CUSTOMER CONNECTION OFFICER(1) POST Job Group “8’’

 

TERMS OF SERVICE

Two (2) years Contract renewable on satisfactory duty performance

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out water connection survey for the new customer and giving the necessary feedback to the office and the customer
  • Documenting the necessary documents related to new connections
  • Physical installation of the water meters with related fittings to the customer
  • Notifying/submitting to the billing office details of the new connected customers for subsequent billing
  • Reconnecting customers who might have been previously disconnected for various reasons.
  • Submitting reports on the various work done within the section
  • Mapping of all connections, pipelines and related appurtenances within the water supply system
  • Carry out investigation on illegal connections and reporting them to the supervision
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned to you.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • KSCE C plain
  • Diploma In Water Engineering
  • Should have knowledge in Geo information Sytems
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Keen in paying attention to details
  • Atleast (2) years experience

 

  1. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (1) ONE POST Job Group “8”

 

TERMS OF SERVICE

Two (2) years Contract renewable on satisfactory duty performance

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out excavation of trenches for repair and installation of new water pipelines as per approved policies
  • Load and off load materials, tools and pipes required for maintenance of water supply network
  • Participate in laying and aligning pipes during installation or change of old lines
  • Carry out maintenance of the gravity line and treatment works, including servicing of air and score valve, repair on water bursts and leaks
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene in the compound as required
  • Carry out plumbing works within the treatment works, raw water pipelines, distribution systems
  • Maintain air valves and was out in timely and economic manner
  • Carry out de-silting of the pipes as directed
  • Complete required forms and returns as directed by procedures and policy
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned to you.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • KSCE D+
  • Government Trade test preferable in Masonry or Carpentry
  • Should be flexible and able to work under sometimes bad weather conditions
  • Should be physically fit
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks
  • Keen in paying attention to details
  • One (1) year experience
